Find out about Rugby in Swale's three populated areas of Faversham, Sittingbourne and the Isle of Sheppey.
There are a number of clubs and organisations providing opportunities in Swale -
Remember to contact the club/organisation before you attend to ask any questions you have on their activities.
Rugby Union is a team sport that is played on a grass pitch and can trace its history back to the 19th century in England. The oval shaped ball is generally passed by hand, although some kicking is permitted, with the team moving towards the opponents try line that also has a H-shaped goal.
Rugby Union is played throughout Swale with teams in all three of the towns if you are looking to get involved or to watch at the weekend. Not as easy to organise a full 15-a-side match with friends but why not try a smaller sided version of Tag or Touch Rugby in the parks and open spaces throughout the borough.
The National Governing Body of the sport has more information on Rugby Union so take a look at the England Rugby Football Union (RFU) website for more information.
COVID-19
All activities offered by clubs overseen by a National Governing Body will be required to adhere to new procedures to protect participants. The Rugby Football Union (RFU) is working with Sport England to support providers to get back to activities.
If you provide opportunities for residents or visitors to get involved in Rugby Union and would like your club or organisation to be listed then email Healthy and Active Swale and we can get your details uploaded.
