WHAT'S 'INN' A NAME?

You might know The Ferry House as one of several names - The Ferry House, The Ferry House Inn and affectionately to locals, the Harty Ferry. A quick drop of the word ‘inn’ from our name is reflective of The Ferry House in more recent years, as one of Kent’s principle hospitality venues for AA Rosette dining, luxury stays, weddings and events.

The rebrand likewise was something very close to our hearts: a visual representation of the personality of The Ferry House, and as a family-run business (for 21 years now), our own personality and passions for the type of venue that we want to be for our guests.

The Ferry House revolves around five core principles – family, quality, commitment, consistency, pride. We are rustic and refined, ethical and continue to strive for improved sustainability. We’re a family business and we believe in premium hospitality with a personal touch. Our kitchen garden and food ethos is at the heart of our offering. Think ‘down to earth luxury’ and you’re absolutely on the right track. We’re united with our local estate at Harty – this is our family land that we’ve farmed for three generations. It’s fruitful, beautiful and tranquil. It’s a big part of who we are and our new branding reflects this.
