Milton Creek Country Park is an oasis for wildlife, hidden from the world by a screen of industrial and residential development. Despite the proximity of human disturbance the 52ha mosaic of meadow, scrub and aquatic habitats is home to hundreds of animal species. Some of these are of national or international importance. The park is open at its northern end where Milton Creek flows out into the Swale. This corridor facilitates the migration of animal species in and out of the park as they move up and down the North Kent coast and provides additional roosting and feeding for the waders and wildfowl which   over winter  in the Swale and Medway estuary.

Sittingbourne parkrun

A weekly feature, on Saturday morning's, runners follow waymarked routes throughout the park which also include an art trail encouraging visitors to explore all areas of the park.

The Friends of Milton Creek

The Friends Group and volunteers encourage visitors and residents to use the park and actively get involved in site conservation and development works. Complimenting and promoting events, regular activities and walks coordinated by the Park Ranger.

'Art in the Park'

This has become an great annual event with visitors encouraged to enjoy the park, wildlife and take part in some creative and artistic activities.

Sport in the Park - In recent years Swale Community Leisure has organised some sport taster sessions in the park during the summer so look out for local advertising and similar events.

Milton Creek Country Park is Swale Borough Council's newest green space. Remediation of this former landfill site was possible with £2m of funding from the Homes and Communities Agency and £1/4m from KCC. Attractions include a community events space, natural play area and fishing lake.
