Fleur de Lis Heritage Centre Museum

Arts, Culture and Entertainment

Fleur VIC shop will be open from 10am to 1pm Sunday to Thursday  and from 10am to 4pm Friday & Saturday

Housed partly in a 15th century former public house, you will not only see the past but feel involved as the story unfolds of Faversham over the centuries.

You will be entranced by the Victorian schoolroom and kitchen, moved by the WW1 & WW2 displays, the costumes and shop fronts delight and there is an amazing selection of sports equipment and information.

Find out about the operation which was at the centre of the nation's explosives industry for 400 years and provided the powder which was used at the battles of Trafalgar and Waterloo. See a Strowger telephone exchange in operation. Follow the history of the creek side industry of brickmaking, while the ancient tools and agricultural equipment in the Big Shed contrast with the richness of the Elizabethan room. Children will love the battered 16th century chest that once housed the treasures of Henry Hatch, a merchant adventurer turned town benefactor.

If you prefer to have a guide on your visit, one of our knowledgeable volunteers will be happy to show you around, there is no charge for this service. The Heritage Centre houses the accredited museum as well as the Visitor Information Centre.

Tickets are valid for one year and free entry is available to Faversham Society Members and Art Fund card holders. There is also a free-entry Exhibition Gallery on site showing items from the Museum or the work of local artists.
